Enjoy a city tour of vibrant Shanghai, featuring iconic sights such as the Bund, the bustling City God Temple Bazaar, and lively Nanjing Road—famous for its shopping and atmosphere. In the late afternoon, board your flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel for check-in and rest.

DAY 4 Zhangjiajie: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park & Yuanjiajie Scenic Area

Start at the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, known for its high pillars draped in lush foliage—natural formations said to have inspired the fictional moon, Pandora, in 2009’s sci-fi movie, Avatar. Marvel at the sea of pillars, some 3,000 feet high, and ride the Bailong Elevator*, the world’s tallest outdoor lift, which ascends a sheer sandstone cliff and affords awe-inspiring views over the incredible landscape. Next, continue to the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area to admire its signature sights, including the Mihun Crag, the rock bridge dubbed the “First Bridge under Heaven,” and the 1,080-meter-high Hallelujah Mountain, so-named after the “floating mountains” in Avatar.

DAY 5 Zhangjiajie: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Admire the streams, waterfalls, and walk across the spectacular Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, the world’s longest and highest glass-walkway bridge, for dizzying views. Other highpoints include a lunch of Tujia Specialty cuisine and the journey by little train in the Ten-Mile Gallery*—a scenic valley filled with bizarrely shaped natural rock formations. DAY 6 Zhangjiajie - Changsha by train: Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park & Bullet Train to Changsha

DAY 9 Huangshan - Shanghai by high speed train: Tunxi Ancient Street & Bullet Train to Shanghai

Known in China as “The Number One Mountain Under Heaven,” Mt. Huangshan was designated a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site in 1990. This morning, rise early to witness an unforgettable sunrise above a sea of clouds from one of the mountain’s stunning peaks. Later, descend the mountain by cable car and return to Tunxi to explore the charming Tunxi Ancient Street, lined with traditional Hui-style architecture, quaint shops, and tea houses. Enjoy a comfortable afternoon ride on the high-speed train to Shanghai, then transfer to your hotel to unwind.
